I find it rather shitty that the world will end 4 days before Jesus’ birthday. World, you are rude! Where is your respect for your lord and savior J.C.? Anyways, as most may have heard, or have known, the world is ending in December 21st, 2012. So, smoke your weed, drink your beer, and do whatever it is people do pre-apocalyptic life.

Want to hear, or shall I say read a sane persons theory. Alright, here it is. The world will not end on December 21st, 2012. As beneficial as it would be to human kind, animals, and the Earth itself it’s just not going to happen. You will wake up to the same pulsing alarm clock and cold showers like you always do. The sun will rise in the east, and set in the west. Your existence will suck as it always does, and you will continue . . . Life will continue.

I watched this 2 hour special on Nostradamus last night. While it was intriguing I found it hard to beleive. The only conclusion I drew from the special was that it was possible for civilations and people to be able to calculate the “galactic lining.”

Nostradamus apparently made these drawings, and on each one there is a wheel of time at the top (it looks like a ships wheel).  On the last drawing there was no wheel of time, and there was a blank book. People theorized that this meant time will no longer exist and life stops. Which makes sense, if we die life goes on, but not time. Time is manufactured by humans.

Apparently the shit is supposed to hit the fan this day. It’s a peak/start to global chaos and famine. We’ll see. I kind of see that now. AIDS in Africa. Global warming. If you ask me a perfect song that fits here is, Billy Joel’s song we didn’t start the fire. Our world has been chaotic since our existence. It’s not now that is a problem. It has always been shitty. I don’t see things that are happening now i.e. Iraq, Global Warming, Global Recession, and AIDS as a sign of this 2012 ending. I see these events as a continuation of mankinds ignorance, and mistakes.

I will Be home next month?!

Pretty exciting, eh? Well, at least for me it is an exciting time. I have had my fill of Japan, for now. I am ready to come back home to the land of clogged arteries and ice beer (I have only seen bud ice here in Japan).

I am ready to come back home and have a brief stint of a social life again. It will be refreshing, and then maybe when I get to Germany I will attempt to be more of a social bee. Amanda and I are going to live out in the middle of Germany somewhere on our own (Kaiserslautern?), so maybe I can meet some locals. I am going to make it a goal to go see some local music in hopes of meeting people interested in jamming, or making a friend (something I haven’t done since my teen days).

I am pretty sure if this had continued I would be greeting people as they entered Wal-Mart. I would be  another jobless statistic.

2007-PRESENT TOM

1. Smoke free for 3 months
2. Haven’t been high in a coons age. Though I wouldn’t turn it down.
3. I have been drunk maybe 3-5 times in the whole year. My liver is healing. WOOH. I drink an occasional beer though.
4. A student and dad.
5. I don’t live with my parents! WOOH. Tom Bless their hearts, but living with parents can get annoying.
6. Back in school and doing amazing.
7. Jog 2.5 miles daily.

At this pace I will be another insignificant joe. WOOH. It beats being broke, overweight, jobless, uneducated. When I say those four terms i mean them in the careless manner. Such as jobless because you are lazy, overweight because you are lazy, etc etc

Contrary to what the title of this post may seem to you, this is not a high school dance. I will be coming back home to Ohio on one of these three days: Janurary 30, 31, or February 1st. I will be home until March 1st. I will be home 4 full weeks. I am come home with Ethan, and Amanda will be in Ohio on February 12th.

If anyone plans on having a party for me and Amander with hookers and blow that would be awesome. As of now the only plans we have so far is to go to Chicago with Marc and other people. If you want to make plans it will be a $50 dollar non-refundable deposit. Deposits are due by January 1st, 2009.  Only limited time available.

March 1st Amanda, E, and I head to Germany. I have my “Learn To Speak German” CD’s ripped onto my computer and on my iPod now. Hopefully I can sing “99 Luft Balloons” once we arrive in Frankfurt International, or Heir Kommt Alex.

I have a mustered some energy to make a few new songs that know one will like other than myself. As long as I amuse myself I should remain content. Here are the songs currently in progress.

1. Just The Tip: This one is almost complete. I was messing around the other day and stumbled across the riff for “Just the Tip,” so I decided to record it. Not only is it recorded, but there are keyboard drums. Yes, you’re eyes read correctly. The drums are done by my finger tips. It sounds really cheesey. It’s amusing nonetheless. Also, lyrics will be sung by “Shit Talker V1.2 By Jaundice.” If all turns out well, then this should be fairly entertaining. I would say you’ll something around Thanksgiving or sooner.
2. Lux Aeterna: I have started recording this, and I keep throwing out my original recordings. This song is practically art for me. I have incorporated a lot of noise and different sound that mesh, but I am still not happy with it. I keep deleting the original piano score and recording a new one. Don’t expect to hear my version fore some time.
   
   
3. Nicotine Patch Nightmare: Well, this song is complete. It is 7 minutes and 59 seconds of noise. Melodic and sometimes asymmetrical noise. I won’t post this one, but if you want to hear it catch me on a good day. I like it, but I am skeptical of letting others hear it. If you’re high I will definitely send it your way. I think it would be most enjoyable while high.
   NOTE: This song got it’s name from a nightmare I had of the worlds end. This song is fitting for my dream.
4. Southern Rock Meets 80’s or something: There is no title for this song. The chords and slightly distorted in this song with little fits of soloing. it sounds quite nice. I think people may like this. This one probably won’t see completion until I am in Germany sometime.

Well, those are the few songs I have actually done something with. If anyone has anything they made that they would like to send my way, do it. I’ll see what I can manage.

Bilingual baby toys can be quite annoying. Especially when the buttons are repeatedly pushed for over an hour, and all you hear is ” Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Hola.” Hitting the button before the sentence or word is finished is highly annoying. DO YOU WANT TO LEARN SPANISH!? Hola! Ah Bay Say Chey…

I am pretty sure these toys will create a new language, Engnish. I find my self mixing spanish words with my english I have a feeling it will be more common as time passes. “Hey pass me the rojo hat. It costs less dinero, and my abuela should like it.” Welcome future.

MY ABSENTEE BALLOT

I have yet to receive my absentee ballot from Ohio. I am not quite sure who to blame yet; the USPS, or the MPS. Anyways, someone will get an  ear-full from me eventually. Apparently I need to fill in this write-in ballot and send it out express mail which is $16 on my behalf. I should claim the $16 dollars on my taxes. This doctor Amanda works with jokingly said to me “Maybe the military it holding because they know who you are voting for, and your from Ohio.” It was amusing, but that’s how it seems. The nice thing is that this election won’t be nearly as close as Gore/Bush, or Kerry/Bush. My vote, or Amanda’s won’t make a dent, but I would still like to vote damnit.

ON A LIGHTER NOTE

1. I am going to start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A friend here invited me to come along. I want to do it, but I am hesitant. I don’t feel like getting my ass whooped 3 days a week. Plus, I guess the whole sport (in my eyes) consist of rolling around on the floor with other sweaty men. I am going to try it. I don’t usually do things like this, but I want to be more active.
2. I had no clue Obama wanted to include the same benefits for Peace Corp volunteers as military members get. The military gets some great benefits: free health/dental care, free college, and good pay. Maybe that will entice more people to join the peace corp over the military. Major Kudos to Obama. I really hope he does this when takes office. I am pretty sure if we had a million people spread across the globe doing good things instead of being the iron fist of our goverment we would be looked upon better.
3. The McCain camp is already placing blame on a ever so likely loss. Rumor on the streets is Palin has gone Rougue. I believe McCain backs her, but his fellow staff and advisors are kind of pissed because they think she lost the election for him. I agree. McCain was a solid guy until he won the nomination (thoug I disagree with him on some major issues). Once that happened his advisors and staff molded him into the typical republican. If anything McCain should blame his whole campaign staff. Had he kept it real and picked a moderate as his VP he would have a much better shot on Nov. 4.  Oh well, he fucked himself, and I am glad as hell he did.

I have yet to receive my absentee ballot. I called the Portage County Board of Election and they said it was mailed out exactly 3 weeks and 1 day ago. It was mailed first class mail. That means it should have taken no longer than a week to get here. I wrote a comment to the Military Postal Service here on the base via this neat complaint/compliment site we have here at this base.

Here it is:

“This comment is not directed at a person, but mainly the whole military mail service.

Every time I turn on the TV I always see an AFN commercial informing people on voting, absentee ballots, and how to vote overseas. I see posters and signs scattered about the YCC and the post office. I hear commercials on AFN radio about voting too.

Here’s the problem.

You want me to vote, and I want to vote. The thing is, it is has been 3 weeks and 1day since my county of residence has mailed my ballot to me (first class mail). I have not seen it in the mail. I have checked the mail religiously twice a day for the past 2 weeks, and there has been no sign of my ballot. I am baffled how someone can order the newest Hannah Montana DVD from Netflix and get it in a week, but my absentee ballot has taken over 3 weeks, and counting.

This is not the first incident either. My state votes on super Tuesday in March for the primaries. I waited on my absentee ballot then also. I ended up getting it the last week of April.

I know this is not a Yokota Issue in general. I was thinking maybe you guys could pass the word along to someone asking them to maybe get a move on it when mailing federal election ballots. It would be nice. Maybe I will get my ballot for Christmas. Who Knows?

I am not angry at the post office or anyone for that matter. I am just annoyed by the tortoise like speeds that it has taken. I often wonder if the pony express would have been quicker.
